“Barn’s burnt down, now I can see the moon.” Masahide
We decided to name this site Looking at the Moon based on that quote. Life throws a million challenges at us, from tiny irritations to crushing tragedy; my goal is to find the positive in the negative. So, even though sparks might fly and my barn burns down on occasion, it means that I have an opportunity to be Looking at the Moon.
Amy Robinson grew up in a town of 900 people, moved to Chicago to be an actress, lived with a musician, did social work with the elderly and produced plays. All of which she plans to write about. Amy currently lives with her husband (that musician from before) in a beach town in Southern California, where she writes, watches too much TV, volunteers with homeless cats and dogs and works as a Project Manager for The Man.
Amy is currently the column editor and writes a bi-weekly blog for FierceAndNerdy.com. She also creates an occasional blog for TheWellfedMuse.com and writes class descriptions for Writing Pad all while maintaining her own blogs, Moons over Monuments, Stinky Junior and Things I Learned from Ling Ling. Moons Over Monuments is a unique view of America’s aging landmarks and Things I Learned From Ling Ling, is mellow philosophical musings and adorable pictures of a cat. Additionally, Amy is a published poet and is currently working on a novel length story, meant to encompass the dramatic life of her father and his mother.
